Keebryn is the Dinosaur Man! You can ask him anything about dinosaurs and he knows the answer... if he doesn't, he will tell you some FIB that sounds pretty good! He taught his Meemaw's 3rd grade class about dino's before their last day of the year. I was amazed and WAY proud of his ability to teach older kids with no reserve. By the middle
of the lesson, he wasn't even looking to me for answers - he was really taking the wheel. He had posters of different dinos that he had hand-painted with water colors, baby dinos to pass around to the class, different objects to represent the size of dino eggs, and figurines of the most popular ones. At the end of the presentation Meemaw allowed Keebryn to read a dino book to the class... OK, he just picture-read - but that's still good for a 4 year old. Next time you see Keebryn ask him anything about dinos... go ahead, I dare you!

The William's Bunch Goes to Charleston!
Oh goodness - watch out Charleston! We went for a week with Keith's family - and I mean HUGE family. Over 18 of us were in the same house - Talk about FUN STUFF! Keebryn and his cousin, Hope had a blast and stayed in the ocean or the pool 85% of the time. We took a carriage ride and viewed Historic Charleston and we went to the aquarium (not impressive).
Keebryn had a big time because he:
* learned to swim without swimmies after days of practice
* rode the waves with mom, dad, and brother
* rode a buggie-board
* found crabs
* visited a lighthouse
* visited a pier
* and ate his first oyster!
He also was able to feed Bailey, his baby-girl cousin, and walk Lil-Girl (Tammy's little dog). He had a great time with a big house and tons of interactive people. We all ate out a couple of times because Keith and I are big eat-outers! We were not impressed with the food - very expensive, but not worth it. We did love hanging out on the beach with everyone and playing in the pool because I was another 85% kid in the water. This was one of the best trips I've had and I'm sure Keeebryn, Keith, and Koltyn feel the same. Check out the slideshow of the beach.

Keebryn Gets a Big-Boy Room!
Now that Keebryn is four, we decided he needed a big-boy room. He had the same room since he was one. The old theme was a bug room with crazy bright colors and stripes, complete with a toddler bed. Now... it's transformed. He is crazy about lions so he now has an awesome lion face mural on his wall. The graphic I found on the internet (it was a tatoo I believe). He has a big-boy twin bed with dinosaur sheets. we also hung an airplane from the ceiling above his bed. My Aunt Gail sewed his curtains, valance, and two little pillows to match (she does awesome work). One of his favorite movies is the Lion King and I found an awesome picture of Mufasa and Simba. Beside the picture, a matching verse from Proverbs: "And a lion, strongest among beasts, that does not retreat for anything"! He loves his new room... check out the before and after.

Keebryn Makes His First Cake!
Keebryn has been dying to attempt his first real cake and we finally had the chance this week. He broke all the eggs, kept the bowl turning and poured the flour to make his own cake. He then put the cake in the oven and baked his little 6 incher. When it was time to invert, he pulled the pan off the cake and was THRILLED and SHOCKED to see a little bitty cake that he had made. He then placed it on a cake board and iced with white icing. Mom helped a bit with that. Then with three different colors and bags with tips, he created an exact replica of a witch he found in a cake book. He and I were both very proud of his creativity and accomplishment. His great-grandmother called and ordered the cake from him and we delivered it to her on Sunday. She payed him $5.00 although he requested $20.00 (ha ha). Keebryn is a very hard little worker and is ready for cake number 2. Note the similarities between the witch picture and his cake - striking!

And the Fire Truck Cake Goes for...
Garrett Sheehan recently died at the age of 6 from leukemia. The Blue Ridge Fire Department held a bone marrow drive and cake auction in honor of him on January 31, 2009. I heard Garrett loved fire trucks so I decided to create a replica of engine #5. This was auctioned to Adrienne from a local fire department for... $150.00. After the auction we let Keebryn have fun on the ambulance and fire engine with daddy!
